Off-the-shoulder tops are one of the key pieces of summer wardrobe essentials. They always look flattering and can be dressed up or down quite easily. I have been looking forwards to wearing these pretty tops all summer, but alas, July and August were rather disappointing in London so far. It rained cats and dogs. There was hardly a full week with proper summer sunshine, but well, that’s British weather for you! In a way, it was a blessing in disguise because I was swamped with work. Hence the MIA from blogging again!
Last week was a rare one, though! We actually had a warm sunny weekend for a change, so I seized the opportunity to wear my new off-the-shoulder top out for a casual stroll to Notting Hill Gate.
Although off-the-shoulder tops look amazing in photos and are perfect for the summer, in reality, they can be quite irritating to wear if they do not fit one’s body shape properly. Sleeves would just keep slipping off, or worse! So it’s really important to choose the right one. I found mine from Peter Pilotto SS17. It is very well constructed and has hidden corset inside the bodice, so looks very flattering because it makes my waist look smaller than it actually is.
For this weekend outfit, I just keep it simple and comfortable by pairing it with cropped denim jeans, some charm bracelets and a cute red bag for a pop of colour. How do you wear your off-the-shoulder top this summer?
