The first London Fashion Week party on the list for AW17 is British fashion Council x River Island Fashion Film Party at Serpentine Sackler Gallery to take a look at conceptual short films produced by a short list of young upcoming artists for River Island’s design Forum. There were 4 short films altogether, exploring different aspect of human psyche, identity and political agendas.
The winner, Margot Bowman, is certainly an enigmatic artist. Her body of work explores what it feels like to be a human in a digital world, marrying technology with fashion, music and art. It was the most abstract one out of the four, but there is a hint of surrealism that made me think of Salvador Dali’s paintings in animation form.
