London Design Festival 2013 Part 2… At Tent London in Spitalfield Market, a unique line of smart phone and tablet accessories by Orée, the brainchild of Julien Salanave and Franck Fontana, captured my attention.

The bluetooth wooden keyboards with leather pouch and marble wireless power pebbles for smartphones such as Galaxy S4, iPhone 5S or iPhone 5 and for any Qi compatible smartphone or tablet, were beautifully designed and executed from the finest selection of natural materials. Not sure how durable the keyboards will be, but I love the concept, the clean minimal design, the combination of wood and leather, and really admire the craftsmanship… Orée wooden keyboards and leather pouch can even be custom engraved for personalisation…

It is exciting to see such elegant and understated product available for smart phones and tablet accessories market, since plenty of them are so tacky. Even the ranges produced by famous fashion design houses are not particularly attractive nor innovative nor practical to use at all.

I, for one, will definitely get my hands on their wireless power pebbles… from now on, I will never suffer “the battery drain syndrome” half way through the day ever again… and the marble pebbles are so beautiful, they look like a piece of minimal art object by their own right. Who would have guessed that these little beauties are phone and ipad chargers… No more messy, tangling wires everywhere on the table… What’s not to like?!?
